Laura Botsford

Senior Associate

Laura is an innovation and service design expert with extensive experience in employing human-centred design to solve complex challenges and develop successful solutions. Her problem-solving career spans non-profit, public sector, digital agency and private sector in which she held roles across product, innovation, user research and service design.

Laura works with non-profits, government and public sector. Current clients include NHS trusts and UK charities, and her recent work has included co-designing and implementing a digital strategy with clinicians in Salford and the design and delivery of user-centred design training.

Before consulting with Innovation Unit, Laura was Head of Digital and Design at Prince’s Trust International, where she oversaw the development of their first digital service, Vibe Check. Prior to that, she led Innovation and Strategic Projects at Action for Children, where she developed numerous award-winning fundraising innovations.

Laura is passionate about co-design and design thinking, and the confluence of service design and innovation. She enjoys facilitating and building skills in teams – Laura is a founding committee member of the Charity Innovation Network, and she has delivered training and workshops on a range of innovation methodologies to over 150 colleagues from non-profits across the UK. She is also a published Tedx speaker and speaks publicly on facilitation and innovation in the third sector.
