GoodLives GM is a strategic partnership between Innovation Unit and Greater Manchester Combined Authority, aiming to empower, equip and connect Greater Manchester leaders, practitioners and communities to work together in new ways to make good lives for all possible.
Since January 2023 GoodLives GM has been supporting the Greater Manchester workforce to grow a culture of prevention and reduce structural inequalities by:
- Supporting confident, capable, connected leaders
- Sharing evidence, insights, and inspiring ways forward
- Growing new alliances for change
"In this room, there are no hierarchies and no roles. There are just people exploring together what it's going to take to shift the system. It's giving me a lot of energy to take back into my work."Bronwyn Raper, Programme Manager, GMCA
Through delivering three cohorts of a flagship Leadership Collaborative Programme, running successful Action Learning Sets and Learning Sprints, growing collaborative systems of Early Family Help, and growing the Live Well movement, we have been learning about four key new ways of working, that can make good lives for all possible:
- Leadership that reaches across places
- Equal working partnerships between voluntary and statutory service
- Cross-sector, multi-disciplinary teams
- Trust in communities, and their leadership of change
We know that these ways of working exist in pockets across Greater Manchester, our mission is to grow them.
