We've been working to ensure our site conforms to a WCAG 2.2 AA standard of accessibility.

This means you should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings

  • Zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen

  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software

  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

How we have done this:

We have worked with Agile Collective to build an accessible and compliant website, including:

  • Easy to use interfaces

  • Accessibility first design (legible and open source fonts, excellent colour contrast, logical layouts)

  • Technical (functions are used to assist users)

We’ve also made the website content as simple as possible to understand and have added detailed descriptions to all images.

PDFs published after 2022 have been checked with Adobe Acrobat to ensure they meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

We know that some parts of the website are not fully accessible yet. For example:

  • PDF documents published before 2022 are not fully accessible to screen reader software

  • Some older video content do not have transcripts

  • Some bespoke features on the site such as data visualisations are not navigable by a keyboard alone.
