We are proud to announce that Matthew Horne, our Joint Chief Exec, has been appointed as Executive Director of Strategy & Corporate Governance at Bradford Children & Families Trust.

This important role reflects Matthew’s career-long dedication to social justice and systemic change. We know that Matthew will lead with the same passion and integrity he has brought to Innovation Unit.

Throughout his time at Innovation Unit, Matthew has helped to build our talented team, transformed the portfolio of projects we deliver, and improved the impact our work has on the outcomes that matter most to the public.

Matthew has been involved in all of our major innovation programmes in children’s social care, education, early years, and youth justice over the last 17 years, and leaves an indelible mark on our organisation. We are pleased and excited that he will carry the lessons from that work to his new role working in the children and families system in Bradford.
Since 2010, Matthew has worked in close partnership with Sarah Gillinson, most recently as Joint Chief Executives. Sarah will continue to lead the organisation as our Chief Executive, providing a seamless transition and continuity of vision. Supporting this next phase, our Managing Director, Deborah Jenkins, and our whole leadership team will be key in managing the business and implementing our new strategy.
