We know that most families engaging with children’s social care are facing high levels of adversity, such as poverty, poor mental health, drug and alcohol misuse
We work holistically with local authorities, police, health, education and voluntary sector partners to:
- Strengthen families and keep them together
- Take a relational approach to working with young people that reduces hand offs and referrals, creating stability and security.
We have a long history of helping to deliver national programmes including Families First for Children; Strengthening Families, Protecting Children; and the Children’s Social Care Innovation programme.
We also believe that families growing up in poor neighbourhoods deserve access to high quality childcare in the early years, and that the current business model in the early years prevents this.
Our approach
Our approach to these challenges is to focus on practice and culture. This means building strong partnerships, growing leaders and managers, and grounding everything in the feedback and voices of children and families.
How we can help
Local partners
We can help local partners to:
- Co-design and implement Early Help and Family Help services that strengthen family networks.
- Articulate and embed a common practice model that supports families to make changes.
- Create effective multi-disciplinary Child Protection teams with a shared approach to practice
