About Martine

Martine joined Innovation Unit as a Senior Associate in July 2025, bringing mixed-methods evaluation expertise to the Justice and Reducing Violence portfolio.

She sees evaluation as a tool for empowerment as well as learning. She is therefore passionate about participatory approaches that place people and communities at the heart of research. She works alongside commissioners, practitioners, and communities to co-design evaluation frameworks, co-create research tools, and build local capacity so that stakeholders can lead and shape the evaluation themselves.  She has seen first-hand how this not only strengthens the evidence, but also empowers those most affected by inequality to drive change.

Martine’s work is underpinned by an MSc (University College London) and PhD (King’s College London) in Psychology, and enriched by several years of postdoctoral research at Imperial College London.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find Martine on Hampstead Heath with her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Daisy, who has been known to contribute (enthusiastically!) to online calls.
