About Jessie
Jessie joined IU in 2019 and leads the organisation’s Justice and Reducing Violence work alongside leading IU’s Reducing Inequalities work
Jessie holds a deep-seated belief that new solutions to entrenched societal challenges can be unlocked through dialogue between all the key players in a system. She believes that when managed carefully, different perspectives and disagreement can provide a catalyst for change and the discovery of new and creative solutions. She is particularly interested in reimagining our justice system so that it treats all those who use it equally and respectfully as well as finding new ways to reduce violence, ensuring everyone feels safe in their community.
Jessie’s first job was working in the United States with young people serving prison sentences. Prior to joining IU, Jessie was Director of Innovation and Impact at Leap Confronting Conflict where she pioneered a unique approach to reducing gang conflict. Jessie is an experienced facilitator, researcher, project manager, programme and curriculum designer.
Outside of work Jessie can be found having a nice time with her family and friends.
