Project Co-ordinator and Researcher
Nifemi is passionate about research that centres the voices and experiences of marginalised communities and can be utilised to bring about systemic change. Nifemi is interested in how we unpack ‘hegemonic’ ideas of knowledge and evidence that are used to inform policy and undertake research.
Prior to joining Innovation Unit, Nifemi worked in a National Research, Policy and Practice programme looking at how to systematically improve and centre the voices of children and care leavers using co-produced tools. Nifemi has a background in social research and oral history community curation with LGBTQ+ communities. Nifemi’s final project used lived experience and standpoints to examine the intersections of racial and gendered inequalities. Nifemi works across the IU portfolio.
