Kelly Scott

Service Designer

Kelly’s approach to service design is to use creative methods to bring together the virtues of diverse teams in order to solve complex problems. She works from a foundation of person-centredness to ensure that ‘experts by experience’ are true partners, while also deeply embedding the value added by wider stakeholders. In a coaching environment, this is present in the way Kelly starts from a person’s strengths to nurture and grow capacity in the direction that works best for them. Kelly advocates for learning to be shared with diverse audiences and prides herself on creating simple, effective communication outputs.

At the Innovation Unit Kelly is supporting the Living Well programme delivery and helping to grow capacity in Greater Manchester’s Living Well teams. She is upskilling researchers in creative methods in Brent City Council, and has supported the co-design phase of creating a radical new approach to community mental health care delivery in York. Kelly’s background is in health system research, including in the field of neurological rehabilitation and central government (NZ) policy research.
