We believe that co-production is an essential way of tackling many (but not all) of the most pressing social challenges facing UK public services such as child obesity; anti-social behaviour; and persistent reoffending. Co-production in public services is a beguilingly simple idea. But co-production as only developed at the margins of policy and on the fringes of practice. This new programme aims to change this.
We are working in partnership with the Public Services Lab at NESTA to co-design and deliver this programme. Over the next twenty months, it will provide investment and support to partnerships of commissioners, providers and consumers of health and social care services to develop innovative solutions that achieve better outcomes for people living with long term health conditions and reduce the pressure on health services.
The programme started in April 2011 so is still in its early stages. Sign up to our newsletter to keep up to date with developments.
