Knowsley

Innovation Unit has worked with the Knowsley Local Authority for over three years. The initial phase of the work involved the design of new system leadership and governance models across the seven newly built Knowsley Learning Centres. Subsequently, The Innovation Unit designed and facilitated the six month programme of learning and induction for the seven new Learning Centre Principals.

All ten of Knowsley's secondary schools were closed and in their place seven newly designed Learning Centres opened, underprinned by a radical vision for systemic learning capability. In 2008, the Local Authority was awarded Innovation Zone status by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). Last year they won the Partnership for Schools Awards for both the country's best Local Authority Trasnformational Learning Strategy and for Innovation in Student Engagement.
