There are acute concerns around rising unemployment, especially amongst the young, in the context of the global recession. We are currently working on the 2012 World Innovation Summit for Education publication, which focuses on radical innovation at the education/work interface. Provisionally titled ‘Learning a Living’, this book will highlight fresh thinking, inspiring practice, and the scope to spread and diffuse such practice. The heart of book will be the portraits of powerful, emergent and promising initiatives (as well as those ‘proven successful’) which hold out the hope of radically new approaches better fitted to the conditions of the 21st century.

The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) was launched by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development in 2009. This annual event is an international, multi-sectoral platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action. Click here for more information on WISE.

As our experts travel the world checking out the most innovative examples of projects, programmes and people in this area they're blogging about their experiences. Join them on their journey by following their blogs. First up, Valerie Hannon in Casablanca visiting INJAZ Al Maghrib. Read her blog here.

You can also follow the making of the book here.
